Buying from FOG-Catcher

Payment

We accept two methods of payment – by Internet banking into our bank account, and by cheque.  There is a separate webpage for each method.  Go to the Purchases Page to find them.

All the details about how to make such the payment (for example, what to put on the cheque) are explained on the relevant page.

Payment must be received before delivery.  Delivery will be delayed by a week if you pay by cheque, to be certain that the money is transferred properly.

Ordering Via the Website

All Orders must be made via the website email order pages, as it is easier for all of us.

GST

Prices on this website include GST.  A tax invoice will be issued with each purchase.   This will be sent by email if you provide an email address, or will be included with your Order otherwise.

Currency

Prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Delivery

Delivery area

We only deliver to addresses in New Zealand.  If you are really keen, we may make an exception.  Contact us and we'll work out a special price.

Time between payment and delivery, the "timeframe"

We send your goods off as soon as possible after we receive confirmation of your payment.  However, if we are swamped with orders then it could take more than a couple of days.

You must allow us two weeks between confirmation of payment and delivery to give us time to handle peaks in orders.   If it is going to go beyond two weeks then we will tell you what is happening in an email or letter.

If we have lots of Orders then we will run out of stock faster.  It takes around 7 weeks between ordering new stock and receiving it.  If it looks like we are going to run out of stock before the next delivery then we'll close down the website ordering system until stock arrives.

It is just possible that we'll get it wrong and end up with an order from you and no stock.   In that case we'll contact you to find out how you want to handle it – money back or wait for stock.

The goods will be delivered to you by NZ Post, using their "ParcelPostTM" envelopes.  You do not have to sign for the goods.  The envelope will be left in your box by the postie.  If this is not possible then the postie will leave a note telling you where you can pick it up.

Deliveries may also be made to NZ Post PO Boxes and Private Bags.   (Advice: If the delivery address is to be your employer you had better get permission first.)

Delivery is stated by NZ Post to take 1-3 working days - Monday to Saturday - but this is a "target" and may be more in some circumstances.  Goods are sent from near Wellington, so the time taken depends on where you are.

"Once the goods are in the hands of NZ Post, the ownership of the goods passes to you.  They are your property from then on."

Notifying you that we have sent your goods

If you provide an email address then we will send you an email after your goods have been given to NZ Post.   This will tell you when the goods were sent and include the tax invoice.   We intend to send the notification on the day we send your goods, but it could be the next working day.

If you did not provide an email address with your order then no notification will be sent, and your tax invoice will be in the envelope with the goods.

Non-receipt of goods

Once passed to NZ Post, the goods are in their custody.

If you receive an email notification that your goods have been given to NZ Post then you know to expect them.   If the goods don't arrive after a reasonable time - probably 3 days if you live near Wellington, 5 days or perhaps more if you are in the back blocks - then contact us and we will do what we can to help.

If you have received nothing from us within three weeks of making your order then contact us and we will work out what has happpened.  If however we have notified you of delays then our notification will tell you when you should receive your goods by, and when you should get in touch with us because of non-receipt.

Damaged goods

Please read the following three paragraphs and not just the first one.  The second and third ones contains good news.

We send goods that we believe to be in good condition.  If they become damaged during delivery then, because they became your property when we passed them to NZ Post, you should take the matter up with NZ Post via their Customer Inquiry Form to obtain satisfaction.  Alternatively, talk to your Post Shop.

However, because we want you to have and use your Fat Traps, we shall send you replacement Fat Traps if you provide us with proof that they were damaged during delivery.

It is (just) possible for us to send, without noticing it, goods which are damaged.  Of course, if this occurs then we are obliged to provide replacements and we are happy to do so.

How to get replacements for damaged goods

If damaged goods arrive then tell us about it as soon as you can.  You must contact us within two weeks of receiving the goods.

You must prove that the goods are damaged.  Either return the goods — parcel them up again and post them to us — or take a clear digital photo and send that to us.  If you are not sure what to do, contact us by email, phone or post, and tell us what has happened and we'll work it out between us.

If you have to pay postage or something else in order to get your replacements, then we shall refund it so that you are not out of pocket.

Incorrect Orders

Should the quantity received be less that the quantity ordered you must inform us as soon as possible.  The balance of your order will be sent immediately.  You must contact us within two weeks of receiving the notification that we sent the goods.

Should the quantity received be more than the quantity ordered then lucky you.  Our fault, our loss.   Pass them on to some deserving people.

Returns Policy

Our products have been on sale in the UK for several years, and have been tested that they are fit for the purpose for which they are sold.  If you can show that the goods that you have bought are unfit for the purpose for which they were sold we must refund your money.

Otherwise, we make no refunds.
